History
The company is based on a limited partnership started by Michael
Lim, CEO of FEIDA. He has this idea since 1987 when he started
Sharkeys Dive & Travel Pte Ltd but the marketplace was still
in its infancy and the domestic market was too small. With the
setup of companies in the People's Republic of China (PRC) the
idea of a one stop scuba related services company in the PRC
enveloped Michael. He thought how nice it would be if divers
didn't have to worry about planning the trip every step of the
way. Since he and his team has intensive background and experience,
he decided to start a dive travel service that provides and
improve scuba related services that they found lacking or inconvenient
especially in the PRC.
Today
Our company became Fish Eye International Pte Ltd (FEI) in
September 2003 to provide live aboard expedition, dive training
and dive travel packages to people in Singapore, Malaysia
and Thailand, specifically in the South China Seas area. Our
company owns 2 live aboard vessels, the M
V Mata Ikan and M
Y Baram. We are also running expeditions,
and making underwater
documentaries.
Recently we set up our China (PRC) travel offices, Shanghai
FEIDA Diving Services Company in Shanghai and an operation
base, Hainan FEIDA Diving Services Company in Sanya, on Hainan
Island. We are actively establishing our dive travel business
in China and the rest of South East Asia.
Tomorrow
The travel industry is growing at an exponential rate in China
and hence dive travel is an eventual an inevitable market
to emerge. FEI is poised to take advantage of this growth
and with an experienced staff team headed by Michael Lim,
excellent location offices, and unique strategic approach
with the Chinese government and tourism business community.
The company right now has about 1000 divers in our database
and we hope to increase it to 5000 by 2006.
